The Fine Art students of Nottingham Trent University asked us to advise on the design and print of their 2007 degree show catalogue. Between us, we settled on a landscape A5 format, utilising various finishing techniques throughout. We brought GF Smith paper merchants into the mix, using their Plike material for the cover, with colorplan for text pages and Phoenixmotion Xenon for the image pages. Overall, the final perfect-bound 112pp document was clear gloss foiled and diecut to the cover, with flood (100%) UV varnish to all image pages, whilst the back cover had a cleverly designed DVD slot. The catalogue has since been used by Nottingham Trent both within the university and beyond as an example of what can be been achieved, setting a new benchmark within the Visual Arts department.
